A car owner in Phu Tho province has recently come under scrutiny after accumulating nearly 100 traffic violations, resulting in fines exceeding 474 million VND. The owner, identified as T.M.B., was unaware of these infractions as the vehicle, a Matiz, had changed hands multiple times without proper registration procedures.

The Matiz, which bears the license plate 29A-647.21, was recorded by the VNeTraffic application, which noted that as of August 14, the vehicle still had 10 unresolved violations. The fines stem from 96 traffic violations captured by AI cameras and three additional infractions. The market value of the car is estimated to be between 30 to 60 million VND, significantly less than the fines imposed.

The vehicle remains registered under the name of a resident from Thanh Liet ward in Hanoi, despite being sold multiple times without transferring ownership. Since February, the Phu Tho Police have installed 635 smart cameras at 202 key locations in Viet Tri city and the historic Hung Temple area to monitor and promptly address traffic violations.

The first recorded violation for T.M.B. occurred in February when the car was caught speeding between 20 to 35 km/h over the limit on Nguyen Tat Thanh street. The number of violations increased steadily, with July alone accounting for 21 infractions for speeding. The last recorded violation was noted on July 30, where the car was again caught exceeding the speed limit by 10 to 20 km/h.

All violations are communicated to the vehicle's registered owner via official notifications. The Phu Tho traffic police have provided two addresses for T.M.B. to settle the fines: the Traffic Police Team of Phu Tho Province and the Traffic Police Team No. 7 in Hanoi.

It appears that T.M.B. may not have checked for traffic violations through the VNeTraffic app or other channels, leading to his unawareness of the accumulated fines. The violations occurred over the past year, and since the vehicle has not yet reached its inspection period, the owner did not realize the extent of the pending fines.

Upon reviewing the details, the Phu Tho traffic police confirmed T.M.B. as the current owner and initiated the administrative penalty process against him. Additionally, three other violations were identified, including failure to register the vehicle under his name, lack of mandatory insurance, and operating the vehicle without a safety inspection certificate. The total fines for these violations amount to 474.6 million VND.

As of August 14, the VNeTraffic application continues to show that the vehicle still has 10 unresolved traffic violations from March and April.
