Inauguration of Running Event at Ha Long Bay

The Global Gate Ha Long ESG++ Marathon 2026 was inaugurated on October 11, 2026, in Quang Ninh, Vietnam. This large-scale sporting event took place along a scenic route that runs through the breathtaking landscapes of Ha Long Bay, attracting approximately 15,000 runners from various backgrounds.

Organized by DHA Vietnam, the marathon features three race categories: 21 km, 10 km, and a 3 km community run. The 3 km event aims to foster community connections, while the longer distances are designed for both professional and amateur athletes seeking to set personal records. A notable aspect of this year's marathon is its focus on environmental consciousness, with the theme "Run for Net Zero" encouraging participants to wear green shirts symbolizing the pristine waters of Ha Long Bay.

The marathon's route is strategically designed to provide runners with an immersive experience of the stunning natural beauty surrounding Ha Long Bay. Starting from the Paradise Avenue, participants will run along the 60-meter-wide Apollo Avenue and other well-planned internal roads, ensuring a smooth running experience. The event not only promotes physical fitness but also emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability, with runners participating in a tree-planting initiative where they will plant 2,026 trees in an ESG garden.

Each finisher will receive a medal featuring the iconic image of the Stone Dog and Cat, a proud symbol of Ha Long Bay, marking their achievement on this unique running course. The marathon serves as a celebration of the province's elevation to a centrally governed city and supports the national campaign encouraging physical exercise among citizens, inspired by the legacy of Ho Chi Minh.

With the slogan "Running Among Wonders - Achieving Records - Run for Net Zero," the Global Gate Ha Long ESG++ Marathon 2026 aims to create a vibrant and eco-friendly atmosphere, making it a significant event in Vietnam's sporting calendar.
