The event, held on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2022) and in response to the Olympic Running Day, attracted the participation of about 5,000 people from diverse backgrounds, including professional national athletes who won medals at SEA Games and Asian Games, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, scientists, students and local people.

“Our sponsorship of the Tien Phong Marathon 2022 is part of our long-term initiatives to help people live healthier lives through active lifestyles, combined with good nutrition. We are excited to see the continued enthusiasm of people nationwide participating in the running event,” said Mr Vu Van Thang, General Manager for Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia. “We’re also very proud that many Herbalife Vietnam Independent Members were among the passionate runners this year. We believe that as the community of active lifestyle lovers keeps growing, the general public will be more inspired to exercise regularly and lead healthier lives.”

“I would like to congratulate everyone who successfully finished the run, regardless of the distance covered. I hope that they will all continue running as part of their daily life, and inspire more people to follow suit,” he added.

Participants of the 63th Tien Phong Marathon National Championship 2022 could join short, middle and long distances – including 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km, for male and female, professional and amateur runners.

The Tien Phong Marathon National Championship is a prestigious tournament with a long history behind it; the tournament was first held in Hanoi in 1958. As a top sporting event, the tournament has been integrated into Vietnam’s official athletics competition system for the last 51 years, and it is held annually at the end of March. It attracts the best participants in Vietnam to compete for medals in middle and long distances, and it is also a good opportunity for amateur runners to compete on the same ground as top national athletes.
