A vehicle in Phu Tho province has been noted for an alarming number of traffic violations, accumulating nearly 100 infractions since the beginning of 2026. Among these, the car was recorded for exceeding speed limits 21 times in July alone, raising significant concerns about road safety and adherence to traffic regulations.

The Phu Tho police recently released a list of vehicles identified through a surveillance camera system, which captures traffic violations known as 'cold fines.' In total, there were 3,055 instances of traffic violations recorded in various districts, with 2,383 related to speeding, 485 for failing to obey traffic signals, and 187 for not wearing seat belts. These violations pose a high risk of traffic accidents.

Specifically, the vehicle with license plate 29A - 647.xx was cited for speeding 21 times within a single month, primarily during early morning and late afternoon hours. The infractions included instances of exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h. The vehicle's total violations for the year are still displayed as unresolved.

According to Decree 168/2024, penalties for speeding vary based on how much the limit is exceeded. Fines range from 800,000 to 14 million VND, depending on the severity of the violation, and can also result in points being deducted from the driver's license.

Under the current cold fine procedures, authorities have 10 days from the date of the violation to identify the vehicle and its owner through electronic databases. If the vehicle owner does not reside at the violation location, the information is forwarded to local police for processing. Notifications of the violations are sent to vehicle owners, requiring them to address the issues at police stations.

Phu Tho police have implemented an extensive cold fine system with hundreds of smart cameras across the region to enhance traffic safety measures. The images captured are transmitted directly to the command center for analysis and processing. Authorities urge citizens to strictly adhere to traffic laws, particularly regarding speed limits, traffic signals, and seatbelt use, to foster a culture of safe and civilized traffic.
