In light of the national mourning period following the passing of Saysomphone Phomvihane, a prominent political figure in Laos, the schedule for the Miss World 2026 events in Quang Ninh has been revised. The Quang Ninh provincial government has issued a directive to ensure compliance with these regulations.

The rehearsal for the opening ceremony, initially set for 8 PM on August 10, has been rescheduled to 9 AM on August 12. Furthermore, the main event titled "Welcome Miss World to Quang Ninh - Vietnam" will now occur at 8 PM on August 12 at the Halong Marina Square in Bai Chay.

Additionally, the contestants' sightseeing activities, including a double-decker bus city tour and visits to Ha Long Bay, will also be adjusted to align with the mourning period while ensuring that the overall schedule remains unaffected.

The Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has been tasked with coordinating with the Miss World 2026 organizing committee and relevant agencies to finalize the specific schedule, ensuring the quality and content of the activities.
