The Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam has announced the revival of an investigation into a case involving three suspects: Nguyen Xuan Kim, Le Sy Sang, and Thai Van Tu. These individuals are accused of activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government, with the incidents primarily occurring in Nghe An and other localities.

On August 11, 2026, the Ministry of Public Security revealed that the investigation was reinstated following decisions made on August 3, 2026. The suspects were initially charged on January 5, 2012, and were placed on a wanted list on February 14, 2012. Both Nguyen Xuan Kim and Le Sy Sang are 46 years old, while Thai Van Tu is 47 years old, all residing in Nghe An.

All three suspects face charges under Article 79 of the 1999 Penal Code, which pertains to activities aimed at overthrowing the government. This article has since been updated to Article 109 in the revised Penal Code of 2015, with amendments made in 2017 and 2025.

The Investigation Agency is calling on the suspects to voluntarily surrender to facilitate the investigation, prosecution, and trial process, assuring them of leniency under the law. Citizens are encouraged to report any sightings of the suspects to the nearest police station, prosecutor's office, or local government office.
