Group of Teens Stage Fight to Steal Motorcycle in Da Nang

In a shocking incident in Da Nang, a group of eight teenagers orchestrated a fake fight to steal a motorcycle from an unsuspecting victim. The event occurred in the early hours of September 29, when the group targeted an 18-year-old man riding a Honda Winner.

The police reported that the group approached the victim under the pretense of resolving a conflict. They lured him to a secluded area, creating a false sense of security. Once they had gained his trust, the attackers produced two katana-like swords and added another accomplice, Lê Nguyên Phước, to their ranks.

As they reached Võ Chí Công street, one of the assailants, identified as Khánh, suddenly grabbed the victim by the neck, pulling him off his motorcycle. The others, Tuấn Anh and Phước, then attacked him with the swords, inflicting injuries to his back, thigh, and buttocks. In a desperate attempt to escape, the victim fled, leaving his motorcycle behind.

After successfully stealing the Honda Winner, the group returned to their neighborhood, where they removed the license plates from the vehicle. The police in Da Nang have since arrested all eight suspects, who are between 14 and 17 years old, and have charged them with robbery under Article 168 of the Penal Code. One of the individuals involved, born in 2013, is too young to face criminal charges, and authorities are working on appropriate measures for his age.

This incident highlights the increasing concerns about youth crime in urban areas, prompting calls for better community safety measures and youth engagement programs.
