The police in Dak Lak province have arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged rape and robbery of a 63-year-old woman. The suspect, identified as Y Ngun Eban, 20, was taken into custody on August 21, 2026, following a thorough investigation into the crime.

According to the police report, the incident took place on the night of August 14, 2026, when Y Ngun was riding his motorcycle after spending time with friends. Around 1:30 AM on August 15, he noticed the victim riding her motorcycle to the Tan Hoa wholesale market to buy vegetables for sale.

Y Ngun decided to pursue the woman and, upon reaching a deserted area, he allegedly attacked her. Reports indicate that he threatened the victim, covering her mouth and threatening to kill her if she screamed. After the assault, he stole 1.1 million VND from her before fleeing the scene.

The victim reported the crime to the local authorities, who faced challenges in their investigation due to the late hour and the remote location of the incident. However, through diligent efforts, they were able to identify Y Ngun as the suspect and apprehend him.

The case is currently under further investigation by the Dak Lak police, who are working to gather more evidence and clarify the circumstances surrounding the crime.
