The tropical depression LPA 09g, currently situated 1,855 kilometers east-southeast of Luzon, Philippines, is projected to strengthen into a tropical storm by September 24 and may reach typhoon intensity by the weekend. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that the system is moving northwest at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour, which is an increase from the previous 25 kilometers per hour.

As of the latest update, the depression maintains maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near its center, with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour. PAGASA anticipates that LPA 09g will continue its trajectory towards the west-northwest and will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on September 24, where it will be given the local name Queenie.

Forecasters believe that the system could intensify into a tropical storm before entering PAR and may further strengthen into a typhoon by the weekend. However, for the next three days, it is not expected to directly impact the weather and sea conditions in the Philippines and surrounding areas.
