A mini gas stove explosion occurred on August 16 in Cà Mau, Vietnam, while a family of 15 gathered for a hot pot meal. The explosion injured three people, with two sustaining severe burns and currently receiving treatment at Cà Mau General Hospital.

The incident took place around 10 AM in Bình Thành hamlet, where the family members of 26-year-old Đặng Ngọc Hân were seated on the tiled floor, using two mini gas stoves for cooking. Suddenly, one of the stoves exploded, creating a fireball that engulfed the area, causing panic as people, including many children, rushed to escape.

According to Hân, her uncle and cousin suffered serious burns and are being treated at the hospital, while her mother sustained lighter injuries and was allowed to return home. In light of this incident, authorities have urged citizens to refrain from using old or damaged gas cylinders and stoves, and to thoroughly check their equipment before use to prevent gas leaks and explosions.

This explosion is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with improper use of gas appliances, especially in crowded settings. Families are advised to prioritize safety and ensure that their cooking equipment is in good condition.
