On August 3, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Tho, the leader of Team K72 from the Dong Nai Military Command, announced that they are seeking witnesses who may have information regarding a mass grave located in Long Thuy Ward, Phuoc Long Town, which was formerly part of Binh Phuoc Province. The grave is believed to contain the remains of approximately 30 to 40 soldiers who sacrificed their lives in 1968.

The team, in collaboration with local military authorities and witnesses, has surveyed various locations and has made preliminary identifications of potential burial sites. However, further information is needed to accurately determine the exact locations for the recovery of the soldiers' remains.

As of July 27, Team K72 has successfully located and recovered 26 sets of remains from the Binh Minh hamlet in Minh Duc commune, Dong Nai City. In addition to the remains, the team is also gathering details about personal artifacts found during the recovery process. These artifacts include a portrait of a young woman discovered in a soldier's wallet, several engraved pens, and various items such as a comb, a watch, and an AK rifle.

The efforts to recover these remains and artifacts are part of a broader initiative to honor and remember the sacrifices made by soldiers during the war. The team is committed to ensuring that these soldiers are properly identified and remembered for their bravery.
