The Tuyen Quang Provincial Police have arrested Nguyen Ha Duy, a teacher at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, for allegedly abusing his authority in connection with the high school graduation exam results for 2026. The arrest was approved by the Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Procuracy on July 6, following an urgent detention order issued the previous day.

Nguyen Ha Duy, born in 1998, has been under investigation due to reports of unusually high scores in the mathematics subject during the recent exams. The police action marks a significant development after more than two days of investigation into the matter, which has raised concerns among the public and media.

Before his arrest, Duy was known for his academic achievements and contributions to the school. He was a mathematics teacher who had previously led the school's national math competition team and served as the Deputy Secretary of the school's youth union. Duy graduated with honors from Hanoi National University of Education and returned to teach at his alma mater.

Throughout his educational career, Duy has received numerous accolades, including a third place in the HOMC math competition organized by the Hanoi Mathematical Society and multiple medals in national student competitions.
