Investigation Launched into Perfect Math Scores in Tuyen Quang

Authorities in Tuyen Quang, Vietnam, have initiated an investigation into the remarkable results of the recent high school graduation exam, where 146 out of 328 students from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School achieved a perfect score of 10 in Mathematics. This has raised concerns about the possibility of score manipulation or answer alterations.

On July 4, the provincial government reported to the Prime Minister and the National Examination Steering Committee regarding the organization of the 2026 high school graduation exam. In light of the initial findings, all Math exams that received a perfect score have been withdrawn for thorough review. This includes cross-referencing the students' academic records to assess their overall performance in Mathematics over the years.

Additionally, the examination council is conducting interviews with each student who scored 10, as well as the invigilators and security personnel present during the exam, to investigate any potential irregularities. The authorities are also reviewing all data related to the examination process to ensure compliance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

After the Ministry of Education and Training announced the exam results on July 1, the outcomes from Tuyen Quang Specialized High School drew significant attention. Over 290 students scored 9 or above in Mathematics, with an average score of 9.58, the highest in the country. In a meeting on July 3, Phan Huy Ngoc, the Chairman of the Tuyen Quang People's Committee, emphasized the need for a thorough and decisive investigation, stating that there would be no exceptions and that any wrongdoing would be addressed promptly.

The education sector and Tuyen Quang Specialized High School are cooperating with authorities to manage the situation while ensuring the well-being of students and their parents.
