In a surprising turn of events, Tuyen Quang province has revealed an extraordinary performance in the 2026 high school graduation math exam. Analysis of the exam data shows that over 300 consecutive student identification numbers achieved record high scores, with nearly half of the students scoring a perfect 10 and more than 91% scoring 9 or above.

This year, the national exam recorded a staggering total of 4,208 perfect scores in math, but the situation in Tuyen Quang stands out due to a unique concentration of high scores. Initial statistics indicate that Tuyen Quang reported 154 perfect scores among 17,589 participating students. Notably, a remarkable 147 of these perfect scores were clustered within a narrow range of student identification numbers from 080163xx to 080166xx, accounting for over 95% of the province's total perfect scores.

This dense concentration has established this range as a prominent 'core achievement zone.' The remaining seven perfect scores were distributed sporadically across distant identification numbers. Beyond contributing to the impressive total of 147 perfect scores, this group of 328 students exhibited a rare uniformity in high scoring, achieving an average score of 9.55.

Within this group, approximately 2.2 students achieved a perfect score for every one student. Detailed statistics reveal that 299 students scored 9.0 or higher, representing an impressive 91.16% of the group. When considering students who scored 8.0 or above, the percentage nearly reached perfection at 98.78% (324 out of 328 students). Notably, there were no students with below-average scores in this cohort, with the lowest recorded score being a respectable 6, while three students scored between 7 and 7.75.

The exceptional results of this cluster of students have sparked considerable interest in educational forums. In response to these findings, the Tuyen Quang Department of Education and Training has announced that it is investigating the matter further.

According to the overall results of the 2026 high school graduation exam, Tuyen Quang recorded a total of 242 perfect scores across all subjects. The distribution of perfect scores by subject is as follows: 154 in math, 76 in history, 5 in chemistry, 4 in biology, 1 in physics, 1 in English, and 1 in agricultural technology. With 154 perfect scores, math accounted for nearly 64% of the total perfect scores achieved by Tuyen Quang this year.

In terms of the number of perfect scores in math compared to the number of candidates, Tuyen Quang ranks second, only behind Ha Tinh. This is a remarkable improvement, especially considering that in 2025, Tuyen Quang did not achieve any perfect scores in math.
