On July 4, 2026, the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang Province announced plans to engage with each student who achieved a perfect score of 10 in Mathematics during the recent high school graduation exam. This decision comes in response to concerns regarding the legitimacy of these results.

The 2026 high school graduation exam in Tuyen Quang saw 18,218 candidates registered, including 17,017 final-year students and 1,201 independent candidates. The evaluation process involved grading 71,416 exam papers, comprising 17,896 written tests and 53,520 multiple-choice tests.

Following media coverage of the exam results, the Chairman of the Tuyen Quang People's Committee, Phan Huy Ngoc, directed the Department of Education and Training and the provincial police to conduct a thorough investigation. The aim is to objectively assess the situation and provide accurate information without any cover-ups or exceptions. Any irregularities will be addressed promptly and transparently.

The Department of Education is tasked with reviewing the entire examination process, particularly focusing on the adherence to regulations regarding supervision, security of exam papers, grading, and data management. All Mathematics exam papers scoring a perfect 10 will be scrutinized to determine if there were any alterations or grade manipulations.

Additionally, the provincial police will collaborate with the Department of Education to verify all relevant data and processes associated with the exam. They will deploy a team of 60 officers to investigate the circumstances surrounding the high scores and to ensure that any violations of examination regulations or laws are swiftly addressed.

Preliminary findings indicate that in the Mathematics exam, out of 329 registered candidates, only 328 participated, with 146 achieving a perfect score of 10 and 150 scoring 9 or above. The investigation aims to ensure the integrity of the examination and uphold educational standards in Tuyen Quang.
