Heroic Rescue: Local Man Stops Attack on Teacher and Her Children

A shocking incident unfolded in Cà Mau when a local man intervened to stop an attack on a primary school teacher and her two daughters. The assailant, identified as 40-year-old Trần Chí Công, has been arrested on charges of murder following the tragic event that occurred on October 6.

According to reports, the teacher, aged 39, was returning home with her daughters, aged 11 and 6, when Công attacked them with a knife. The assault resulted in the death of the 6-year-old girl, while the mother and her older daughter sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Cà Mau General Hospital for emergency treatment, where they are now in stable condition.

Witness Lê Út Nhỏ, who was nearby enjoying coffee, heard the cries for help and rushed to the scene. He described seeing the 11-year-old girl covered in blood and her mother being attacked by Công. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Nhỏ, along with police officers, pursued the assailant for nearly 20 minutes.

Using a water hose and a makeshift pole, they managed to force Công to flee temporarily. However, he fought back fiercely, attempting to attack his pursuers multiple times. During the struggle, he dropped the knife after being struck with a piece of wood, allowing the group to finally subdue him.

Nhỏ recounted, "At that moment, I didn't think much; I just knew I had to quickly restrain him to prevent further harm to anyone around." The pursuit took place over a short distance, yet it took considerable time to bring the situation under control.

Local authorities have indicated that Công may have had a romantic interest in the teacher, which could have been a motive for the attack, potentially stemming from jealousy. The investigation is ongoing, and further details about Công's background and intentions are expected to emerge as authorities continue their inquiries.

The community remains shaken by the incident, and many are praising the bravery of Nhỏ and the police for their quick response in preventing further tragedy.
