A tragic incident has unfolded in Dak Lak province, where a physical education teacher, Nguyen Hong Linh, has been arrested for the murder of a 39-year-old library staff member, identified as L.T.M.D., at Le Dinh Chinh Primary School. The police have reported that Linh, 38, committed the crime out of jealousy after suspecting that D. was involved with another man.
According to the police investigation, Linh had developed feelings for D., but she had been avoiding him in recent months. On the night of August 10, after attending a school party, Linh went to D.'s room in the school dormitory to confront her. During their conversation, he overheard D. speaking on the phone with another man, which triggered his jealousy.
In a fit of rage, Linh allegedly assaulted D., choking her until she lost consciousness. Realizing that she had died, he attempted to destroy evidence by burning her clothes and mattress. He then transported her body on his motorcycle, covering it with a raincoat, to his coffee plantation located about 20 kilometers from the school.
Once at the plantation, Linh buried D.'s body and covered it with a tarp. The following day, he returned with a shovel and crowbar to dig a hole for her remains, hoping to conceal his crime.
Authorities were alerted to D.'s disappearance and quickly began an investigation, leading them to Linh. Initially, he denied any involvement, but as evidence mounted against him, he eventually confessed to the murder on August 13.
Linh is currently in custody for four months, facing charges of murder. He is reported to have a wife and two children, while D. had recently divorced and was raising two daughters.
