A 54-year-old man has been arrested in Ho Chi Minh City for snatching a handbag and dragging the victim down

A tragic incident has unfolded in Dak Lak, Vietnam, where a physical education teacher from Le Dinh Chinh Primary School has been arrested for allegedly murdering a female colleague. The 39-year-old victim, who worked as a librarian at the same school, was reported missing after a school party on August 10, 2023.
According to police investigations, the suspect, a male teacher, had developed feelings for the victim despite being married with two children. The victim had recently divorced and was raising her two daughters alone. Following the school event, the suspect visited the victim's dormitory room to discuss their relationship. It was during this conversation that a heated argument broke out, leading to the tragic outcome.
Reports indicate that the male teacher physically assaulted the victim, resulting in her death. In a panic, he attempted to conceal the crime by burning evidence, including clothing and bedding, in her room. Subsequently, he transported her body to his coffee plantation located about 20 kilometers from the school and buried her there.
Authorities have since conducted an investigation, examining the scene and collecting evidence related to the case. The shocking nature of this incident has raised serious concerns about safety and mental health within educational institutions in Vietnam.
As this investigation continues, the community is left to grapple with the implications of such a violent act occurring within a school environment, emphasizing the need for better support systems for teachers and staff.
