Fire Breaks Out in Two-Story House in Ho Chi Minh City

A fire erupted in a two-story house located on Nguyễn Chí Thanh Street in Ho Chi Minh City, prompting a swift response from local residents and emergency services. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on October 3, 2023, at an ice production facility within the building, which covers approximately 80 square meters and is situated about one kilometer from Chợ Rẫy Hospital.

Witnesses reported seeing thick smoke and flames emerging from the ground floor, where the ice-making machines are located. The fire rapidly spread to the upper floor through the moisture extraction system connected to the ice machines, creating a large column of fire. Many individuals working inside the facility rushed out to alert nearby residents and attempted to extinguish the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

As the fire intensified, black smoke engulfed the building, causing significant alarm among the surrounding community. A local resident named Hưng mentioned that the facility contained numerous foam containers and machinery, which contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. "The burning area above is part of the moisture extraction system linked to the ice-making machines below," he explained.

Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene, with two fire engines and over 20 personnel deployed to tackle the blaze. They successfully controlled the fire within approximately 15 minutes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries; however, many machines and equipment inside the house were destroyed by the flames. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities.
