Update on Trương Mỹ Lan's Seized Assets Amid Legal Proceedings

The civil enforcement agency in Ho Chi Minh City has unexpectedly revised its decision concerning the luxury assets of Trương Mỹ Lan that were seized in relation to the high-profile Vạn Thịnh Phát case. This amendment, reflected in the updated decision number 223/QĐ-THADS, was announced on January 14, 2026.

The revised list of seized assets includes a white metal Omega watch, a brown and black Salvatore handbag, a blue scarf, a light blue checkered short-sleeve Hugo Boss shirt, and a white short-sleeve Paul & Shark polo shirt with a dark blue collar and a zipper. All items are pre-owned luxury goods.

These assets are set to be auctioned off as part of the efforts to compensate victims of the Vạn Thịnh Phát scandal. Previously, several valuable items belonging to Trương Mỹ Lan have already been successfully auctioned, including a diamond-studded jewelry set purchased for over 25 billion VND. Notably, two Hermès bags belonging to her were sold within just 30 minutes in each auction, fetching a total of over 14.1 billion VND.

According to the civil enforcement agency, after nine rounds of payments, more than 12 trillion VND has been disbursed to creditors related to the Vạn Thịnh Phát case. However, there remains over 18 trillion VND that still needs to be settled according to the court's ruling.
