Truong My Lan, who is currently incarcerated, has been informed about the upcoming auction of a notable property as part of the legal proceedings related to the Van Thinh Phat case. The Ho Chi Minh City Civil Enforcement Department has announced the selection of an auction organization to handle this process.

The property in question includes land use rights and ownership of a house located at 142 Vo Van Tan Street, Ho Chi Minh City, with a starting price of over 94 billion VND. The chosen auction organization is the Ho Chi Minh City Property Auction Service Center, located at 19/5 Hoang Viet, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Truong My Lan has been notified about this auction along with other related parties. The auction is expected to take place in the near future. The area surrounding 142 Vo Van Tan has been frequently mentioned in the legal proceedings involving Truong My Lan.

Not far from this location is a historic villa at 110-112 Vo Van Tan, which spans nearly 3,000 square meters and is situated at the intersection of three streets in the old district 3. This villa, built in French architectural style, features two stories with a total floor area of over 2,500 square meters and includes 16 rooms with preserved architectural details.

In 2013, this villa was listed for sale at a price of 47 million USD, and in 2015, it was purchased by Minerva Joint Stock Company for 35 million USD, equivalent to over 700 billion VND at that time. During the legal proceedings, Truong My Lan had requested that this villa not be seized, arguing that it is a historic property that should be preserved rather than treated as a regular real estate asset.

Her daughter, Chu Duyet Phan, also submitted a request to cancel the seizure, claiming that the funds for purchasing the property were contributed by Minerva's shareholders. However, the court determined that the shareholders had familial ties to Truong My Lan, leading to the decision to maintain the seizure to ensure compensation obligations in the case.
