Heavy Rain Forecast for Tomorrow and Mid-Autumn Festival Weather

As Vietnam prepares for the Mid-Autumn Festival, significant rainfall is anticipated tonight and tomorrow, September 24. Regions from Quang Tri to Da Nang, as well as eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, Khánh Hòa, Lâm Đồng, and the southern areas will experience widespread heavy rain.

According to Pham Phuong Chi from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, rainfall amounts are expected to range from 40 to 80 mm, with some localized areas receiving over 150 mm. Specifically, areas from Quang Tri to Da Nang and eastern Quang Ngai may see rainfall exceeding 250 mm.

On September 25, which marks the Mid-Autumn Festival, heavy rain is predicted to decrease in many areas. However, significant rainfall will still be concentrated in regions from Ha Tinh to Hue, Lâm Đồng, and southern provinces, with expected rainfall of 30 to 60 mm, and localized areas possibly exceeding 120 mm in the south and Lâm Đồng. From Ha Tinh to Hue, rainfall is forecasted to be between 50 to 100 mm, with some areas exceeding 200 mm.

While most regions will see a reduction in rain, the Central Highlands may still experience moderate rain and thunderstorms during the festival. In Hanoi, the weather on September 25 is expected to be mostly dry with temperatures ranging from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, while Ho Chi Minh City will continue to see moderate to heavy rain, with maximum temperatures between 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological agency has warned that heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in low-lying areas, urban zones, and industrial regions, as well as flash floods in small rivers and landslides in steep areas.
