Weather Forecast for September 10: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected

Southern Vietnam is currently facing a prolonged period of heavy rainfall, which has persisted since the start of the rainy season. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this rainfall is expected to last until September 26.
On September 23, the center reported that heavy rain would continue across the southern provinces and also in Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa. Rainfall amounts are predicted to range from 40 to 80 mm, with some areas potentially receiving over 150 mm.
In Ho Chi Minh City, residents can expect cloudy skies with intermittent heavy rain and thunderstorms. The temperature is forecasted to be between 23 to 26 degrees Celsius at night and 29 to 31 degrees Celsius during the day.
Looking ahead to September 24, the heavy rain is expected to persist, with rainfall between 20 to 40 mm, and some areas could see over 80 mm. By the evening of that day, the intensity of the rain may start to decrease.
However, on September 25, coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, heavy rain is forecasted to return to the southern regions. The center has also indicated that areas including Da Nang and provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai, as well as Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong, will experience moderate to heavy rain, with rainfall amounts between 10 to 30 mm and some areas exceeding 70 mm.
In addition, the central provinces from Ha Tinh to Hue will also see moderate to heavy rain on the same day, with expected rainfall of 40 to 80 mm, and some locations could receive over 120 mm.
From September 26 onwards, the heavy rain in Southern Vietnam is expected to gradually decrease, leading to clearer weather conditions. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned of the risk of intense rainfall exceeding 100 mm in 3 hours, which could cause localized flooding in major urban areas and low-lying regions.
Residents are advised to be cautious of dangerous weather phenomena such as whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong winds that could cause property damage and directly impact traffic safety.
