Southern Vietnam is preparing for a substantial increase in rainfall starting September 9, 2026, as forecasted by the Southern Hydro-Meteorological Center. The region is expected to experience widespread rain, with some areas receiving over 100mm of rain in a single day.

According to meteorological reports, the convergence of tropical winds will gradually shift southward, enhancing rainfall across the southern provinces. The southwest monsoon is expected to maintain moderate intensity, while the subtropical high-pressure system remains stable.

In the upcoming three days, the weather will primarily feature sunny conditions, with isolated showers expected in the afternoons and evenings. Daytime temperatures are projected to range from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, with some areas possibly exceeding 34 degrees.

From September 9, the rainfall is predicted to intensify in both coverage and volume. Skies will become increasingly overcast, and widespread rain is anticipated, including moderate to heavy showers in certain areas. The most significant rainfall is expected between September 10 and 12, when thunderstorms may bring risks of strong winds, lightning, hail, and potential damage to trees, buildings, and infrastructure.

This heavy rainfall could also lead to flooding and traffic congestion, impacting daily life and agricultural activities in the region. Residents are advised to take precautions and stay informed about weather updates as the storm approaches.
