Today, September 22, a tropical convergence line connected to a low-pressure area is causing rain and thunderstorms in many parts of the East Sea. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, several coastal areas in Vietnam are under the influence of this low-pressure system.

The tropical convergence line runs approximately between 10-13 degrees North latitude, linking to a low-pressure area identified at 1 PM on September 21, located around 11.5-12.5 degrees North latitude and 112.5-113.5 degrees East longitude.

As a result of this convergence and the low-pressure area, rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the sea areas from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, and the central and southern East Sea (including the Spratly Islands). There is a high risk of tornadoes, strong winds reaching levels 7-8, and waves exceeding 2.0 meters in these regions. All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong winds.

On land, the Northern region will experience cloudy skies with occasional rain showers and thunderstorms at night, while daytime temperatures may rise to between 31-35 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 35 degrees Celsius.

The region from Thanh Hoa to Hue will see scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, with Hue city and the South Central Coast experiencing moderate to heavy rain, with some areas facing very heavy downpours.

The Central Highlands and Southern regions will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms may also bring the risk of hail, lightning, and strong winds.

Residents and tourists are advised to carry umbrellas and raincoats to prepare for sudden weather changes.
