The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has raised alarms over the risk of flash floods and landslides following heavy rainfall in Quang Tri Province and Hue City. As of September 20, 2026, significant rainfall has been recorded, including 94.8mm at the La To Hydropower Station in Quang Tri and 127mm in Hue.

Forecast models indicate that soil moisture levels in some areas are nearing saturation, with some regions exceeding 85% saturation. Over the next six hours, these areas are expected to receive additional rainfall ranging from 10 to 40mm, with isolated areas potentially exceeding 60mm.

Specific locations in Quang Tri and Hue are particularly vulnerable to flash floods and landslides:

• Quang Tri: Ta Rut, Ba Long, Cam Lo, Con Tien, Hieu Giang, Huong Hiep, Kim Ngan.
• Hue City: Binh Dien, A Luoi 3, Khe Tre, Kim Long Ward, Phong Dien Ward, Phu Bai Ward.

The disaster risk level due to flash floods and landslides has been classified as level 1. Such events could severely impact the environment, obstruct transportation, and disrupt socio-economic activities.
