Iran has officially conveyed a proposal to U.S. President Donald Trump, detailing three specific conditions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, confirmed that these conditions were communicated through Qatar, which has been acting as a mediator in the discussions.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Rezaei stated that Iran's conditions include: an end to hostilities on all fronts, the release of Iran's frozen assets, and the cessation of maritime blockades. He emphasized that if these conditions are met, peace in the Middle East could be closer to reality.

Rezaei noted that Qatar has successfully completed its role in the mediation process and has submitted Iran's demands to President Trump. Currently, Tehran is awaiting an official response from the U.S. leader. "We are in contact with Qatar, which has conveyed our conditions for ending the conflict to Washington, and we are waiting for feedback from President Trump," he stated.

Furthermore, Rezaei reaffirmed Iran's commitment to a religious decree issued by the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which prohibits the development of nuclear weapons. He clarified that Iran has not yet decided to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and any future decisions will depend on Washington's actions. However, he warned that U.S. and Israeli actions could provide grounds for Iran to reconsider its position on the treaty.

In this context, Rezaei also expressed Iran's desire to end the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi forces supported by Tehran in Yemen, indicating that the Houthis are also seeking an agreement with Saudi Arabia.

The U.S.-Iran conflict escalated in late February after the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran, claiming the actions were necessary to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In response, Iran declared control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, while the U.S. imposed blockades on Iranian ports.

Last week, President Trump stated that the conflict with Iran would soon conclude, possibly before or shortly after the upcoming U.S. midterm elections in November. He mentioned, "I think the war will end right after the election because they cannot hold out any longer. They are looking to influence the election." Trump emphasized that diplomatic negotiations remain a viable option, although not his preferred choice, and predicted a significant drop in oil prices following the resolution of the conflict.

According to U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Washington has completed the first phase of its strategy, which involves dismantling Iran's nuclear program and conventional military forces.
