Dau Van Dien, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hanoi Construction Corporation (Hancorp), along with Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Toan, has been expelled from the Communist Party. This decision was reached by the Central Inspection Commission during its 12th meeting on September 7, following findings of serious violations.

The Commission concluded that both individuals had exhibited political and ethical degradation, breaching Party regulations and state laws in their official duties, particularly in the areas of anti-corruption, waste prevention, and negative behaviors. Their actions severely impacted the reputation of the Party organization and the institutions where they worked, necessitating disciplinary action.

Prior to this expulsion, in late June, Dau Van Dien had been temporarily suspended from his position as Chairman of Hancorp without any specified reasons. At 58 years old, Dien holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and has been with Hancorp since 2014, becoming Chairman in March 2021. Hancorp, established in 1982 and transitioned to a joint-stock company in 2014, operates in real estate, construction, investment, services, and industrial production.

As of 2025, Hancorp employs over 4,000 staff members, with total assets projected to reach 6.43 trillion VND by the end of 2024. The company's average revenue from 2020 to 2024 is approximately 3.5 trillion VND annually. Hancorp is also one of the ten members of the Vietur consortium, participating in a 35 trillion VND contract for the construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment at Long Thanh International Airport.
