Deputy Minister Hoang Trung Expelled from Party

Hoang Trung, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment in Vietnam, has been expelled from the Communist Party following serious violations that have caused significant consequences. The Party Central Committee made this decision during a meeting on July 28, where they reviewed recommendations from the Central Inspection Commission.

The committee concluded that Hoang Trung, along with several other officials including Duong Thanh Trung, former Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee, and Do Truong Giang, Director of the Lao Cai Department of Industry and Trade, had displayed a decline in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle. Their actions were found to violate Party regulations, state laws, and the responsibilities expected of Party members.

These violations have led to public outrage and have negatively impacted the reputation of the Party organization and the local government. The committee decided to expel Hoang Trung and the other officials from the Party and has called for timely administrative sanctions to align with the Party's disciplinary actions.

Hoang Trung, 57, hailing from Yen Bai, holds a doctorate degree. He was appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in June 2023. Following the merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in February 2025, he took on the role of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment. Prior to this, he held various positions within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, including specialist, Deputy Head, Head of Plant Quarantine, and Director of Plant Protection.
