Nguyen Quang Thieu, the Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Vietnam Writers' Association, has been removed from all his positions within the Communist Party. This decision was announced by the Central Inspection Commission on July 30, following a review of violations that occurred at the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House.

The Commission's findings indicated that the Party Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association during the 2025-2030 term failed in its leadership and oversight responsibilities, resulting in the publishing house's failure to meet its obligations as a management entity. The violations included not adhering to Party regulations and state laws regarding publishing activities, leading to a significant decline in political integrity and ethics among several officials and party members.

As a result, the Central Inspection Commission has determined that the violations have had serious consequences, damaging the reputation of the Party organization and necessitating disciplinary action. In addition to Thieu, several other officials, including Dao Ba Doan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Nguyen Thuy Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Publishing House's Party Committee, have faced expulsion from the Party.

The Commission also called for a review of related Party organizations and members to ensure accountability and compliance with regulations. This disciplinary action follows previous criminal charges against some individuals involved in the case, including accusations of disseminating materials that oppose the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

These developments highlight ongoing concerns regarding integrity and adherence to Party guidelines within Vietnam's cultural institutions, as the Central Inspection Commission continues to address violations within various Party organizations.
