Ho Chi Minh City is intensifying its efforts to identify the remains of fallen soldiers by transporting 7,104 samples to Hanoi for DNA testing. Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, announced that the city’s Steering Committee 515 will collaborate with units from the Air Defense - Air Force to facilitate this operation.
The samples will be securely packaged and sealed in specialized containers before being transported by military aircraft. Specifically, the remains will be flown from Tan Son Nhat Military Airport to Gia Lam Military Airport in Hanoi. Upon arrival, the samples will be handed over to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology for DNA analysis, which is crucial for confirming the identities of the soldiers.
This initiative is part of a larger effort to honor and recognize the sacrifices of those who fought for the country, including the identification of notable figures such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, a revered martyr in Vietnam's history.
