Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have announced that they have discovered six more remains of fallen soldiers at Le Thi Rieng Park, raising the total number of remains found to 327. This announcement was made on August 15 by the Ho Chi Minh City Command, which is overseeing the recovery efforts.

On the same day, teams worked diligently to process over 300 cubic meters of soil while continuing to expand their search in the first and second gravesites located in the park. The command has deployed three excavators, dump trucks, and two additional trucks to aid in the excavation and transportation of soil, ensuring that the operation proceeds efficiently.

The recovery of these remains is based on findings from a workshop led by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, which aimed to verify information regarding mass graves of soldiers in the area previously known as Do Thanh Cemetery, now Le Thi Rieng Park. Historical accounts and witness testimonies suggest that hundreds of soldiers who died during the Tet Mau Than Offensive in 1968 may be buried in this location.

The first seven remains were recovered on July 6, and since then, the search has intensified, leading to the significant discovery of 327 remains by mid-August. Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung, the political commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, is overseeing the search operations, which are crucial for honoring the memory of those who sacrificed their lives during the war.
