Phu Cuong Group Responds to False Allegations Amid Criminal Case

Phu Cuong Group issued an important statement on August 19, 2026, addressing false information that linked the company to a criminal case in Phu Tho province. The allegations involved the misuse of an image of a family member of the group's leadership, which was associated with a criminal investigation.

In a post on its verified fan page, Phu Cuong Group clarified that the information circulating online is entirely false. The individual whose image was used is not involved in the criminal case and has no connection to any of the actions mentioned in the reports. The company condemned the act of misrepresenting the individual's identity as a serious violation that could harm the reputation of both the individual and the group.

Phu Cuong Group is taking immediate steps to preserve evidence and verify the source of the false information. They are cooperating with relevant authorities to clarify the responsibilities of those involved in disseminating the misleading content. The group has requested that all organizations and individuals remove the false content and refrain from sharing unverified information.

This statement follows the Phu Tho police's announcement regarding a criminal case involving a suspect named Nguyen Minh Hieu, born in 2003, who was charged with rape under Article 141 of the Penal Code. The case originated from a complaint filed by a 2002-born American woman, alleging an incident that occurred on July 5 at a hotel in Thanh Thuy, Phu Tho province.

Phu Cuong Group, established in 1995 as a seafood processing enterprise in Ca Mau, transitioned to a financial group in 2009 under the leadership of Chairman Nguyen Viet Cuong. The group operates across various sectors, including real estate, seafood processing and export, and renewable energy services, with a focus on developing social housing projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc.

The company aims to construct 10,000 social housing units in Ho Chi Minh City and 1,000 in Phu Quoc by 2027, prioritizing housing for armed forces and police personnel. As of August 2025, Phu Cuong Group reported a total capital contribution of over 1,800 billion VND from its three founding shareholders.
