Police Rescue Woman Attempting Suicide at Dong Nai River

Police Rescue Woman Attempting Suicide at Dong Nai River

On the night of August 6, 2026, the firefighting and rescue team from the Dong Nai Police Department received an urgent report from citizens about a woman standing on the Dong Nai Bridge, showing signs of wanting to jump into the river.

Immediately upon receiving the alert, the team dispatched officers along with a specialized rescue boat to the scene. They also coordinated with personnel on the bridge to approach and calm the woman.

Upon arrival, the woman appeared psychologically unstable, standing dangerously close to the edge of the bridge. Through patience and careful communication, the officers managed to approach her gently, encouraging her to share her feelings while advising her to remain calm and think positively.

After a prolonged effort of persuasion, the woman stabilized her emotions and agreed to step away from the perilous area. She was safely brought to a secure location and subsequently handed over to local police for further assistance and to reunite her with her family.

This incident is part of a series of successful rescues by the Dong Nai firefighting and rescue team. Just weeks earlier, on July 23, they responded to a report of a man who had jumped from the Hoa An Bridge into the river. Within ten minutes, rescuers reached him, provided immediate first aid, and transported him to safety.

On July 15, the team also rescued a woman who had jumped from the Dong Nai Bridge. They found her struggling in the water, quickly brought her on board their rescue boat, and provided necessary medical attention before handing her over to healthcare professionals.

These timely interventions highlight the dedication and effectiveness of the Dong Nai Police Department’s firefighting and rescue team in preventing tragic outcomes.
