The female traffic rule violator claimed that she is a police officer as well

On July 8, 2026, local authorities in An Thới Đông, Ho Chi Minh City, reported the discovery of the body of Lieutenant P.S.B, a member of the water traffic police (PC08). The body was found near the Vàm Sát River, approximately 500 meters from the accident site.
The incident occurred around 4 AM on July 7, when a patrol team consisting of three officers was conducting surveillance on the Soài Rạp River. Their patrol boat collided with an oil tanker and capsized. Fortunately, two officers managed to swim safely to shore, but Lieutenant P.S.B was swept away by the current and went missing.
Following the accident, the Ho Chi Minh City authorities established a command center at the scene, mobilizing over 40 officers and 14 specialized patrol boats, along with local fishermen's boats, to search the downstream area of the Soài Rạp River. The search efforts faced significant challenges due to strong currents and adverse weather conditions.
After more than a day of intensive searching, the authorities were able to locate the body of Lieutenant P.S.B. Officials are now completing the necessary procedures to hand over the body to the family for funeral arrangements, while also continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
