Two Suspected Dog Thieves Die in Collision with Passenger Bus

Two men, suspected of stealing dogs, lost their lives in a tragic collision with a passenger bus in Ha Tinh. The accident took place early in the morning on National Highway 1, near Hoanh Son Ward, where authorities discovered several dead dogs at the scene.

At approximately 3:40 AM today, the motorcycle, which lacked a license plate and was carrying the two men along with several dogs stuffed in bags, was traveling southbound. As they approached the intersection with the Kỳ Anh bypass, their motorcycle collided with a passenger bus from Gia Lai heading in the opposite direction.

The impact caused the motorcycle to topple, throwing the two men onto the road, where they were pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, seven dogs contained in the bags were also killed by the bus. Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle was severely damaged, with its front end crushed and the bags of dogs scattered around. Nearby, various tools commonly used for dog theft were found.

The passenger bus sustained minor damage, with its front end and right headlight broken. Traffic police from Ha Tinh province, in coordination with local authorities, managed the traffic flow at the accident site, which was cleared shortly after the incident.

Authorities suspect that the two deceased individuals were attempting to transport stolen dogs for sale when the accident occurred. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
