A documentary titled 'Scholar Le Quy Don' is set to premiere on VTV1 at 8:10 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026. This film celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth of Le Quy Don, an eminent cultural figure and scholar in Vietnam.
The year 2026 marks a significant occasion to honor and appreciate the immense contributions of Le Quy Don to the history of the nation. It also serves as an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the values that have shaped the resilience and intellect of Vietnam throughout various historical periods.
The life, career, and legacy of Le Quy Don exemplify the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge and creativity for the prosperity of the country and its people. The documentary is produced by the Central Propaganda and Training Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio. It will air on VTV1, highlighting Le Quy Don's significant impact on 18th-century Vietnamese culture, including his achievements in thought, politics, culture, education, and various scientific fields.
On October 31, 2025, during the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, a resolution was passed to honor and commemorate the 300th anniversary of Le Quy Don's birth. This recognition emphasizes his unique phenomenon in the history of Vietnamese culture.
