Northern Vietnam is currently witnessing a decrease in rainfall, leading to hotter conditions in several regions. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northeastern mountainous areas and Quang Ninh province will experience scattered rain and thunderstorms with rainfall amounts ranging from 10 to 30mm, and localized heavy rain exceeding 70mm on the evening of July 20.

Starting July 21, rainfall in Northern Vietnam is expected to decrease significantly, particularly in the Red River Delta and Thanh Hoa province, where temperatures may soar. However, from the night of July 22 to July 24, thunderstorms and rain are forecasted to return, with heavy rain likely in some areas during the early morning, evening, and nighttime.

In the central provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri, and the eastern regions of Gia Lai to Dak Lak, extreme heat is anticipated over the next two days, with temperatures exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some locations. Areas from Hue to the eastern part of Quang Ngai are also projected to face intense heat, with some regions experiencing temperatures above 39 degrees Celsius.

• Northeast region: Cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms; daytime temperatures between 30-33 degrees Celsius.
• Thanh Hoa to Hue: Cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms; daytime temperatures reaching 35-38 degrees Celsius.
• South Central Coast: Cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms; daytime temperatures reaching 35-38 degrees Celsius.
• Central Highlands: Cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms; daytime temperatures between 29-32 degrees Celsius.
• Southern region: Cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms; daytime temperatures reaching 32-35 degrees Celsius.
