Can Tho University Announces Admission Scores for 2026
Can Tho University has released its admission scores for the 2026 academic year, with the highest threshold

As the application period for university admissions comes to a close, a university in Ho Chi Minh City has recorded nearly 83,000 applicants, reflecting a decrease of more than 10,000 compared to the previous year. This decline is attributed to new regulations requiring students to achieve a minimum score of 15 across three subjects in their high school graduation exams to qualify for university admission.
According to Pham Thai Son, the Director of the Admissions and Communication Center at the University of Commerce in Ho Chi Minh City, the total number of applicants is expected to drop further due to restrictions on the number of choices students can make. This year, each student is limited to a maximum of 15 choices, unlike last year when there were no such limits.
The University of Commerce has announced its preliminary admission scores based on various assessment methods. For instance, under the high school graduation exam results method, the minimum score for law and economic law programs is set at 20, while other programs require at least 16 points. For the high school transcript assessment method, all programs require a minimum score of 20.
In terms of anticipated admission scores for this year, Son predicts they will be similar to those of 2025. For technical fields such as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, scores may range from 19 to 22 points. In high-demand areas like information technology and artificial intelligence, scores are expected to reach between 22 and 24.5 points.
Economic programs, including marketing and international business, are projected to have scores between 22 and 24.5 points, while law and economic law programs may see scores ranging from 22.5 to 23.5 points. English and Chinese language programs are also expected to be competitive, with scores around 23.5 to 24 points, reflecting stable demand in these fields.
Additionally, tourism-related programs are forecasted to have admission scores between 22 and 23 points, indicating a strong recovery trend in the service and tourism sectors. Son noted that for high school transcript assessments, scores for logistics and supply chain management, marketing, and economic law are expected to range from 26.5 to 27.5 points.
Overall, the admission scores for the University of Commerce are projected to be competitive, reflecting the evolving landscape of higher education in Vietnam as students navigate new regulations and opportunities.
