Minimum Admission Score for Social Sciences University Announced

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), part of Vietnam National University, has announced the minimum admission score for the 2026 academic year. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 19 points to be eligible for admission to any of the 29 programs offered by the university.

This minimum score is applicable to all admission methods that utilize results from the 2026 high school graduation exam. Notably, this score does not include any weighting, and for applicants using foreign language certificates, the language score will be converted accordingly. The score also considers any regional and subject-specific priority points as outlined in the current admission regulations by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition to the standard admission method, the university will also consider candidates based on the results of the Hanoi National University’s competency assessment test. The minimum score for this method is also set at 19 points, converted to a 30-point scale.

For context, in 2025, the admission scores for USSH ranged from 21.75 to 29 points. The highest score was for the Psychology program, which required 29 points in the C00 subject group (Literature, History, Geography). Other competitive programs such as Journalism, Oriental Studies, and Public Relations required scores of 28 points or higher, while Southeast Asian Studies and Japanese Studies had the lowest admission scores at 21.75 points.

The university has implemented three admission methods for 2026: direct admission and priority admission, admission based on the competency assessment test results, and admission based on the high school graduation exam results.
