High-Speed Truck Accident on Ho Chi Minh Road

High-Speed Truck Accident on Ho Chi Minh Road

On July 5, at approximately 10:30 AM, a serious traffic accident occurred on Ho Chi Minh Road at Km 868, near Lam Hoa village, Tuyen Lam commune, Quang Tri province. A truck, driven by 56-year-old N.T.H. from Ninh Binh province, lost control while navigating a curve, causing the container to overturn and collide with another truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The second truck was driven by 36-year-old D.V.T. from Lang Son province. Fortunately, while both vehicles sustained significant damage, there were no injuries reported among the drivers or passengers involved.

Initial investigations by the Traffic Police Department suggest that the accident was caused by the first truck's driver failing to reduce speed while approaching the curve, leading to the container overturning. The Quang Tri Traffic Police are currently handling the case in accordance with legal regulations.

This incident serves as a reminder from the Traffic Police Department to all vehicle operators about the importance of reducing speed when navigating curves, narrow roads, or slippery surfaces. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and prepared for unexpected situations to ensure road safety.

According to Article 12, Clause 3 of the Road Traffic Safety Law, drivers must reduce speed to ensure they can stop safely at intersections, railway crossings, curves, and other potentially hazardous areas. Additionally, truck drivers are advised to thoroughly check the technical condition of their vehicles, particularly the container locking mechanisms, before setting off to ensure safety during transit.
