Suggested journey to conquer Bach Moc Luong Tu peak, Vietnam

Bach Moc Luong Tu, also known as Ky Quan San, is one of Vietnam's four highest peaks. Bach Moc Luong Tu has an altitude of 3046m above sea level.

1. What is the best season to go to Bach Moc Luong Tu?

The ideal experience for travelling to Bach Moc Luong Tu is from September to November, this is the period when the weather is most beautiful, and the climate is cool and temperate. This is when the sun is gentle, there is little rain, and climbing is very safe and convenient for sightseeing.

If you want to climb a mountain to see snowfall, you should go from December to January next year. Although the weather is very harsh, you will admire the unique snowfall scene in return. From February to April is spring, on the top of the mountain, there is thick fog, trees are budding, green, fresh air, and little rain is also very convenient for climbing. This is also the time to see banyan flowers, plum blossoms, and peach blossoms blooming brilliantly.

It can be said that conquering Bach Moc Luong Tu is beautiful in any season; however, you must pay attention to avoid going on drizzly days, as the roads are slippery and quite dangerous.

2. What must you prepare to conquer Bach Moc Luong Tu?

When going to Bach Moc Luong Tu, you need to pay attention to prepare the following things:

Pay attention to the weather: You should check the weather report about 3-5 days in advance; do not go on days when the weather is very dangerous.
Note about health: You need to be healthy when climbing mountains. People with a history of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or poor health should not climb mountains.
Prepare climbing equipment: Some items will help you climb more effectively, such as wooden sticks, climbing shoes that help with good friction, lightweight backpacks... If you wear glasses, you should wear glasses with a strap to avoid falling off in the middle of the road. Remember to bring a flashlight, lighter, knife, phone, watch, gloves, hat, sleeping bag, tent, sunscreen, spare battery charger...
Attire: You should only bring 2 - 3 sets of clothes that are enough to change, if it's winter you should bring warm clothes.
Bring snacks: Some foods such as sweets, chocolate or snacks can help you prevent low blood pressure.
Some medications: Medicines for stomachaches, headaches, bandages, insect repellents... are always necessary on your long mountain trip.

3. Suggested itinerary

Below is a suggested journey to conquer Ky Quan San (another name for Bach Moc Luong Tu) in three days and two nights for tourists who love the experience of cloud hunting and star gazing.

Day 1: Experience the beautiful roads of the Northwest mountains and forests

There are currently two routes to trek this famous mountain range: Lao Cai - Sa Pa - Sang Ma Sao and Lai Chau - Den Sung. With the safety and optimal experience criteria, you should choose the first palace. This is a road with a total length of about 30 km, both going and returning. With a 3-day trip, you will have 10 km to experience other terrains such as bamboo forests, large timber forests, dwarf bamboo forests blocking the path, and moss-covered cliffs. .. Besides, you will see many open spaces for beautiful photo angles.

When you arrive at Sang Ma Sao commune, you follow the trails through terraced fields and cattle breeding grounds of local people. Then, cross the stream that is quite slippery with moss and cross the ancient forest; you will reach the first point to conquer in the journey to climb Bach Moc Luong Tu. That is the 2,100 m high Salt Mountain slope. Here, visitors can watch the sea of floating clouds or the sparkling Milky Way while at the shack at the top of the mountain.

Day 2: Conquer Bach Moc Luong Tu, reach the Ky Quan San milestone

Today's challenge is overcoming the dinosaur's spine, which has quite dangerous terrain with two cliffs on both sides. You should follow the small stones leading the way safely to your destination. When you reach the top and touch the Ky Quan San landmark, you can see the entire Northwest landscape from above and breathe in the fresh air.

Day 3: Admire the sunrise on Muoi Mountain

You can welcome the sunrise with magical clouds on the mountain and take dreamlike photos before returning to Sa Pa, taking a relaxing bath with Red Dao herbs. A dish visitors should notice when coming here is a sturgeon hotpot.
