Coming to Pu Luong, visitors can enjoy relaxing days in the midst of vast rice fields, green mountains and forests, and blend in with the rhythms of local people’s lives.

Pu Luong is one of the few places where it is possible to grow two rice crops on terraced fields, alternating with the watering season in July and February. But Pu Luong is not only rice fields, this land encapsulates everything that is possible. satisfy both guests who want to lie down and read books by the pool all day, and those who love to explore in the midst of nature. Here are the destinations visitors should not miss in their journey in the miniature Northwest in the heart of Thanh this summer.

Don village

Ban Don can be considered as the capital of Pu Luong tourism. According to Thai people, in the past, people built their houses scattered and far away. Later, the new people gathered into villages, lived near water sources, convenient for community activities. People took the word Don, which means gathering in Thai, and named the village.

Currently, Don village is planned to be developed into a community tourism village. This place still retains the traditional culture of the Thai people, with traditional wooden stilt houses interspersed between terraced fields that are as soft as green silks embracing the village. It is also home to many beautiful resorts and homestays.

Kho Muong Bat Cave

Kho Muong Bat Cave is located in Kho Muong village, Thanh Son commune, Ba Thuoc district. This is a cave complex belonging to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, with limestone blocks dating to about 250 million years ago. Bat Cave connects to the underground river system that carries water from Kho Muong through Pon village in Lung Cao commune. Stalactites and stalagmites in Bat Cave have all shapes and forms, creating a magical natural picture of the Creator. The special thing inside the cave is an empty field as wide as a natural football field. The road from the top of the cave to the bottom of the cave is quite difficult, many challenges for young people who want to explore.

Muoi version – Diving version

Standing from Don village looking down, visitors will see Uoi village appearing at the foot of the limestone mountains with palm forest spreading umbrellas above, winding terraced fields around. The clear stream flowing through the middle of the village is where people bathe and do laundry. Next to the Uoi village is Diem village, where the traditional brocade weaving is still kept. In the past, people only weave brocade for their families and villages. Recently, when the village started to do tourism, the new people weaved more to serve visitors.

Hieu Waterfall

Located in the core zone of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, Hieu waterfall is located in Co Lung commune, Ba Thuoc district. This is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thanh Hoa. Upstream from the high rocky peaks, the waterfall is abundant all year round. In the summer, the water at the foot of the waterfall is cool, but in the winter, it is warm. Surrounded by primeval forests, Hieu waterfall always welcomes visitors with a fresh and pleasant atmosphere all year round. Listening to the murmuring water between the mountains and forests, soaking in the cool water of Hieu waterfall is an experience that brings a moment of relaxation to the soul.

Pho Doan Market

Another name is Pho Don market, Pho Doan market is a highland market that has been held since the French colonial period. This market also preserves the traditional culture of ethnic minorities.

The market meets on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings in Lung Niem commune. People in Thanh Lam, Co Lung, Lung Cao, Lung Niem and Thanh Son communes of Ba Thuoc district often bring goods to the market early. It can be a bunch of wild vegetables, ripe fruit in the garden, a bottle of wine that needs to be brewed or a chicken cage that is free from hills, puppies. The market has a variety of items such as brocade cloth, can wine, fruits and wild vegetables. The market also sells Co Lung ducks, free-range chickens, puppies and many local dishes such as rolls, sticky rice cakes, and donuts.

Cham Stream

7 km from Don village is Cham stream, right at the gateway to Pu Luong nature reserve. Suoi Cham collects water from the entire Pu Luong nature reserve and flows to the Ma River, along the banks of which are water fountains to serve farmers. On this stream, visitors can try the unique tourist product of bamboo rafting. Going down the stream for nearly 1 km, visitors will experience the feeling of floating between the clear stream, watching the fields, villages, mountains and forests.
