Severe Weather Forecast for the East Sea Due to Super Typhoon Bavi
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns of strong winds and high waves in the East

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a warning about adverse weather conditions due to a cold air mass affecting the Gulf of Tonkin tonight and tomorrow, October 5. From October 6, the area of strong winds is expected to expand to the North East Sea.
Tonight, October 4, and tomorrow, the Gulf of Tonkin, the waters from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang, and the North East Sea (including the Paracel Islands) will experience rain and thunderstorms. There is a high possibility of tornadoes and strong winds reaching levels 7 to 8, with waves exceeding 2 meters.
As dawn approaches on October 5, the Gulf of Tonkin will see winds of level 6, occasionally reaching level 7, with gusts of level 8 to 9; strong sea conditions are expected with waves of 2 to 3 meters in height.
On the evening of October 5, the northern waters of the North East Sea will experience strong north-east winds of level 6 to 7, with gusts of level 8 to 9, and waves of 2 to 4 meters. From October 6, the area of strong winds will extend to the North East Sea, including the Paracel Islands.
The meteorological agency has warned that the risk level for maritime disasters is classified as level 2. All vessels operating in these areas are at high risk from strong winds and large waves.
On land, from the evening of October 4 to October 5, areas in the Northern Delta, the Northwest, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An will experience rain, with some places facing heavy rain and thunderstorms. From the evening of October 5 to October 6, the region from Ha Tinh to Hue City is expected to see moderate to heavy rain, with rainfall totals ranging from 40 to 80mm, and localized areas exceeding 150mm.
Thunderstorms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts, which could impact agricultural production, damage trees, and affect homes and infrastructure.
Heavy rainfall may lead to flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
