Over 3,000 Participants Join 'Walking Together for Vietnam' in Hai Phong

On the morning of August 30, 2026, nearly 7,900 individuals participated in the walking event titled "Step Forward with Vietnam" held at Lam Son Square in Hac Thanh Ward, Thanh Hoa Province. This event is part of a nationwide initiative that took place simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities across Vietnam.
The program saw participation from local officials, police officers, military personnel, civil servants, teachers, students, and residents from seven wards, as well as faculty and students from Hong Duc University. Following the launch signal, participants walked through the streets of Hac Thanh, embodying the message "10 billion green steps - For a sustainable Vietnam."
This initiative aims to spread the spirit of unity and strength among the Vietnamese people as the country prepares to celebrate its National Day on September 2. It also encourages citizens to engage in physical activities, adopt a dynamic lifestyle, protect the environment, and enhance community responsibility.
According to the organizing committee, as of 8 AM on August 30, a total of 7,881 individuals in Thanh Hoa had contributed 9,056,497 steps. The "Step Forward with Vietnam" event is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security, with support from the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Nationwide, the event recorded a participation of 1,774,268 individuals, contributing a staggering total of 10,068,000,515 steps.
