Ministry of Defense to Recruit Military Graduates for Local Units

The Ministry of Defense of Vietnam has initiated a recruitment drive for individuals who have graduated from basic military training to fill positions in local military command units. This decision comes as part of the Ministry's efforts to enhance personnel strength and meet operational requirements following organizational restructuring.

The announcement was made in response to a petition from voters in Thanh Hoa Province regarding the employment of individuals trained under the military personnel training project for local authorities at the college and university levels. Voters from Yen Thang commune reported that many officials had been sent for training in accordance with government and Ministry directives. However, after the implementation of the two-tier local government model and the appointment of regular officers to positions within local military command units, the utilization of trained personnel had not been adequately addressed.

To ensure sufficient military personnel for local operations, the Ministry of Defense has directed relevant agencies and units to review and propose the recruitment of reserve officers for active duty. Additionally, the Ministry plans to hire graduates from basic military training programs to serve in local military command units.

Furthermore, the Ministry has called for the recruitment of professional military personnel to fill technical and specialized roles in units that currently lack sufficient staff. This group will include civil servants working in local military command units who do not meet the criteria for officer recruitment, as well as individuals who have expressed interest but have not yet been hired as professional military personnel.

Individuals who previously held positions as Commanders or Deputy Commanders of local military command units, who have been reassigned following the implementation of the two-tier local government model, will also be considered for recruitment if they have not been appointed as civil servants or public employees.

Moreover, those who have graduated or are currently enrolled in regular basic military training programs at military schools will be eligible for consideration if they meet the necessary qualifications and conditions.

The Ministry of Defense has tasked relevant agencies with continuing to guide units in reviewing and compiling recruitment needs for the aforementioned groups. Based on the proposals from these units, the Ministry will evaluate and decide on the recruitment of eligible candidates in the near future.
