Over 3,000 Participants Join 'Walking Together for Vietnam' in Hai Phong

On the morning of August 30, 2026, the 'Walking Together for Vietnam' program took place at the Hai Phong City Theater Square, attracting over 3,000 participants. This event aimed to promote solidarity, health, environmental protection, and a green lifestyle within the community. It was organized to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, the traditional day of the People's Public Security Forces, and the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The initiative, which follows the success of the previous year’s program, was held simultaneously across 34 provinces and cities, engaging a large number of officials, soldiers, and citizens. Participants in Hai Phong walked a route starting from the City Theater Square, passing through various streets including Quang Trung, Nguyen Duc Canh, and Tran Phu, before returning to the starting point.

With the theme '10 Billion Green Steps - For a Sustainable Vietnam', the program not only encourages community members to exercise and adopt active lifestyles but also promotes environmental awareness and sustainable development. Each step taken contributes to a collective goal of fostering a healthier, greener community.

The organizers aim to boost public engagement in physical fitness and health care while strengthening the bond between the police force and the community. The event also seeks to raise awareness about reducing emissions and protecting the environment, establishing green habits in daily life.

Moreover, the simultaneous organization of this event across 34 provinces aims to set a Guinness World Record, showcasing the community's unity on a national scale. Launched on August 12, the program invited citizens to register online, connect devices, and accumulate steps towards the ambitious target of 10 billion green steps.

In addition to the walking event, activities on August 29-30 included experiences promoting green lifestyles, Net Zero initiatives, and physical activities, making 'Walking Together for Vietnam' a call to action for individuals to enhance their health and take responsibility for the environment. The program aspires to create a significant impact through the collective effort of individuals, leading to a healthier, greener, and more sustainable Vietnam.
