On August 8, 2026, Nguyen Tat Thanh University's Faculty of Information Technology organized a training program titled "Application of AI in Local Police Work" in collaboration with the An Phu Dong Ward Police. The event saw full participation from all officers and soldiers of the An Phu Dong Police Department, focusing on providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement AI safely and effectively in their operations.

The program featured presentations by Tran Chau Thanh Thien, Acting Head of the AI Department at the Faculty of Information Technology. Through various presentations, demonstrations, discussions, and practical exercises, participants gained foundational knowledge about digital transformation, data management, and AI. They also learned to identify opportunities and risks associated with technology application in management and operational tasks.

The training covered essential topics, including the National Digital Architecture Framework (version 1.0) established by the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1425/QD-TTg on July 29, 2026. Participants were educated about data, connectivity, and delegation in the digital environment, as well as legal aspects of AI, personal data protection, and risk identification. The speaker emphasized the importance of data management and sharing during the digital transformation process.

Additionally, the program introduced basic knowledge about generative AI and its capabilities in processing information, content synthesis, data analysis, and creating products for police work. Participants were guided on principles for safe, secure, and responsible AI usage, highlighting the need for input data control, accuracy evaluation of AI outputs, and the importance of verification before using AI-generated content.

The core of the training involved practical guidance on using AI for specific tasks related to local police work, such as advising, summarizing, drafting, data analysis, and creating communication content. Participants learned to identify suitable tasks for AI application and how to construct controlled commands using an eight-component structure that includes AI's role, context, and quality criteria.

Through hands-on practice, officers applied AI to compile security reports, develop communication content, and design infographics. The practical activities were structured to ensure that all outputs were verified and approved according to a six-step process, reinforcing the importance of accuracy, security, and accountability in AI usage.

This training program not only enhanced the officers' ability to leverage AI effectively but also fostered a closer connection between Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the local police. By integrating AI knowledge into real-world scenarios, the program aimed to empower officers in their digital technology engagement. This initiative reflects the Faculty of Information Technology's commitment to aligning academic expertise with practical needs, promoting the safe and responsible use of AI in the digital transformation process.
