Sun Group is embarking on an ambitious project to create the world's largest Buddha statue, reaching a height of 167.5 meters, made from silver-plated bronze. This monumental statue will be crafted by hundreds of skilled artisans from Vietnam and is part of the larger Am Tien Legend tourism complex, which spans over 350 hectares in the Nua Mountain area of Thanh Hoa province.

The project, named "Huyen Tich Am Tien - Legend of Am Tien," aims to honor cultural and historical values, allowing future generations to pay tribute to their ancestors. The total investment for this project is approximately 35 trillion VND, with construction having begun in April 2025.

The development will be executed in three phases. The first phase includes a commercial service area and a cable car system covering 31.74 hectares, with an investment of 2.969 trillion VND. The second phase will feature a tourism service area and cultural landscape spanning 58.62 hectares, with an investment of 9.634 trillion VND. The final phase will establish an ecological resort area of 295.64 hectares, with an investment of 22.429 trillion VND.

Notably, the statue of the Buddha will be a centerpiece of the complex, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and resilience, inspired by the image of a legendary white elephant. The statue will be accompanied by a White Lotus Dome, which will serve as a prayer center and a venue for artistic performances. Additionally, a 35-meter Prayer Tower will feature a system of 300 wind chimes, enhancing the spiritual experience for visitors.

The entire project is expected to be completed between 2027 and 2030, with the first phase, including the cable car system, anticipated to be operational by 2027. Once finished, the statue is expected to set a record as the largest Buddha statue in the world, attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors to Thanh Hoa.
