The provincial leaders of Lạng Sơn recently inspected the progress of the Mẫu Sơn Ecotourism Complex and cable car project, which has an investment of over 7.3 trillion VND by Sun Group. This ambitious project spans over 692 hectares and is being developed in two phases.

Phase one covers nearly 122 hectares across Lộc Bình and Mẫu Sơn communes, featuring key components such as a departure station, arrival station, cable car line, hotel, and various tourism services. As of now, the land clearance process has yielded positive results, with authorities successfully completing the assessment of 128 households, covering 45.73 hectares, thus achieving 100% of the required compensation area.

Approved in May 2018, the project has been recognized as a key development initiative for the region, expected to boost tourism, commerce, and services, while creating jobs and increasing local income. The Mẫu Sơn area is characterized by its cool climate year-round, and during winter, it is one of the few places in Vietnam where frost and snow frequently occur, making it a unique tourist destination.

Despite the progress, some challenges remain in the land clearance and construction phases, particularly concerning compensation procedures and land transfer for the cable car line. The provincial leadership has urged the investor to expedite the compensation process and focus resources to accelerate construction once the land is cleared.

The project is anticipated to effectively tap into Mẫu Sơn's tourism potential, enhancing the overall economic landscape of Lạng Sơn province.
